The GCC project is designed to teach high school girls essential computer technology skills that will help them succeed in higher education, specifically in STEM-related courses, and help position them to succeed in careers in STEM fields. The project is sponsored by The Public Affairs Section of U.S. Embassy Addis Ababa. For the year 2016/2017 Digital Opportunity Trust a Canadian based international NGO was an implementing partner to run the GCC project in five regions of Ethiopia: Addis Ababa, Bahir Dar, Dire Dawa, Jimma, and Mekelle. In total 200 high school students from the five regions have benefited from this project. 

The technology related courses include  Computer Basics, Internet and Networking, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Access, Mysql, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Python and Scratch.

The leadership and life skill training include – Becoming visionary, Becoming self-confident and assertive, Developing communication skills, Managing peer pressure, Developing problem solving skills, Stress management and conflict Resolution and Developing leadership skills.
